75 YEARS OF UNIVERSAL HUMAN RIGHTS

Trukumb Mine commemorates this year's Human Rights Day on December 10, 2023, marking the 75th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. This historic document, adopted in 1948, was a groundbreaking proclamation affirming the universal protection of fundamental human rights. Translated into over 500 languages, the declaration stands as one of the most translated documents globally, serving as the cornerstone for an evolving human rights framework. Even after seven and a half decades, its relevance persists. Embracing the theme "Dignity, Freedom, and Justice for All," this year's focus is on the inherent worth and value of every human being. It directs attention towards universality, progress, and engagement, envisioning a future where human rights are universally acknowledged.

"To deny people their human rights is to challenge their very humanity." — Nelson Mandela

Trukumb Mine is dedicated to upholding the fundamental rights outlined in the declaration, aligning with our responsibility to promote human rights across all facets of our operations, from suppliers to local communities. Acknowledging the profound impact businesses can have on people's ability to enjoy their human rights, we ensure our Human Rights policy aligns with international best practices. Informed by the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, our Human Rights policy undergoes regular review and is detailed in our annual Human Rights Report. The respect for our fellow human beings and their inalienable rights forms the foundation of all our governance policies and practices.
